If you want to boost your home's security by installing automatic gates, then you'll have looked at different systems. During your research, you may have come across gates that can be controlled via a smartphone app. This kind of feature adds a few benefits to your gate's system. What are they?
Get Rid of the Remote
If your automatic gates are opened by a remote controller, then you have to have the control with you when you want to enter or exit your driveway. While this may not be a problem most of the time, it's a headache if you lose your remote or switch cars and forget to take the remote with you.
If you have access to an app-controlled system, you can use your smartphone to open and close your gate. You're more likely to have your phone with you all the time so you won't have any problems using your gate when you need to.
Share Access to the Gates
You can set controls on a gate's app to allow multiple people to use the gate. This is handy if you have a large family coming in and out of the gate at different times. It saves giving everyone a remote. Some apps also allow you to share controls on a time-limited basis. This means you can allow certain people to access your property at set times even if you aren't there.
For example, if you have some guests coming to stay and you won't be around when they arrive, then they can download the app before their visit. You can give them access during their stay, so they can come and go as they please even if you aren't around. You can then remove access once their stay is over.
Give Remote Access
If you're having work done on your home or garden when you're at work, then you need to work out how to let your tradies on to your property. While you can leave the gate open for them, this also makes your property accessible to other people before your tradies arrive.
Many apps allow you to control your gate remotely via your phone. Your phone basically calls the gate and tells it to open or close. So, you can open your gate when your tradies are due on site and then lock it again when they leave without needing to be on the spot.
If you think that adding smartphone controls will be useful for you, then ask your automatic gate contractor to talk you through available systems and their features.

Hello! My name is Roger and this is my new blog. Last year, I had some real problems with my garage door. It kept sticking and wouldn't open when I pressed the button on the remote control. In the end, I decided to have the entire thing replaced. I had never chosen a garage door before. I thought it would be easy but in fact, there are lots of things you need to consider. Thankfully, the garage door contractor I went to was really helpful and explained everything I needed to know. Once I had found the perfect garage door, the contractor installed it. I'm really happy with my new garage door.
